With all their money on Berti Vogts, with all the support for the team,
Nigeria still fell to Cote d'Ivoire yesterday and Nigerians in Sekondi
have expressed outrage and called for the sack of the German trainer.

At the stadium was such number of top Nigerians that the ordinary
ones felt it was a good venue to express their feelings to the
authorities. They passed a vote of no confidence on Vogts for his
selection.

There were indications last night that the proposed friendly match between the Super Eagles and Sudan scheduled for today was almost cancelled, even as team skipper Nwankwo Kanu arrived Malaga last night.

The match, which is to help the two Ghana 2008-bound teams prepare for the tournament kicking off in 11 days time, was threatened by the Sudanese demand that Nigeria share some of the cost.
